Rewst vs. zofiQ vs. Serval vs. Ixvara:
MSP Automation Platforms Compared (2026)
Every few months a new platform gets compared to Rewst. Right now it's zofiQ and Serval. The problem: zofiQ got acquired by ConnectWise nine months after launching, and Serval is a $1B enterprise IT product that says in its own docs it's not for external customer support. Neither of those facts tends to make it into the comparison posts.
This is what each platform actually does, where it earns its reputation, and where the gaps are. We're one of the vendors in the mix, so take our framing with that in mind — but the facts about the other platforms are sourced and accurate.
The Short Version
Powerful workflow automation for MSPs who can invest in building it. Not a plug-and-play tool. Doesn't replace any of your existing tools.
Acquired by ConnectWise in January 2026, 9 months after launch. No longer available as an independent platform. ConnectWise MSPs only.
Enterprise internal IT platform. No multi-tenancy. Not designed for MSPs. Their own docs say "not suited for external customer support."
MSP intelligence layer. Replaces 8 tools. Platform-agnostic. Works from day one without workflow building. Transparent pricing.
Rewst: The MSP Automation Standard
$104M raised · 1,500+ MSP customers · Founded 2021 by Aharon Chernin (ex-Perch Security, sold to ConnectWise)
Rewst has 1,500 MSP customers, $104M raised, and a community that gets credited in almost every positive review as much as the product itself. That's not marketing — MSPs genuinely talk about the ROC team and the Discord the way they talk about their best vendor reps. The platform earns its reputation.
What Rewst does: it sits between all your tools and lets you build automated workflows that run across all client tenants at once. User onboarding that takes 45 minutes manually? Build the workflow once, it runs in two. M365 license drift every month? Automate the reconciliation. The multi-tenant angle is the thing that separates it from generic tools — Zapier and Power Automate make you rebuild the same workflow for every client.
Aharon Chernin (the CEO) has a line that's stuck with us: "AI thinks, automation acts." Rewst is the acts layer. It executes exactly what you've defined. That's powerful, but it also means the ceiling is whatever you've built — it won't surface something you haven't programmed it to look for.
Where Rewst genuinely excels
- Multi-tenant workflow automation — build once, run across all clients
- 120+ prebuilt Crates for common MSP processes (onboarding, billing, patching)
- Maintained integrations — Rewst keeps 80+ connectors current so you don't have to
- World-class community and support (ROC team consistently praised)
- Documented ROI for power users — $60K+/year in savings at scale
- Flexibility — if it has an API, you can automate it
What to know before committing
- Requires an "automation champion" — someone dedicated to building and maintaining workflows
- Typically 3–6 months before meaningful ROI — it's an investment, not a plug-in
- Adds to your tool stack — ITGlue, Auvik, Liongard etc. still needed alongside it
- Reacts to events — doesn't proactively monitor or surface insights independently
- Pricing requires a sales call — no self-serve or published tiers
Bottom line on Rewst: If you have 15+ technicians and can dedicate someone to own automations, Rewst is genuinely one of the best investments in the MSP space. The community alone is worth something. Where it falls short is for MSPs who want immediate value without a build-out phase, or who need a platform that also consolidates the tools it connects to.
zofiQ: Genuinely Innovative — Now ConnectWise-Only
Launched April 2025 · Acquired by ConnectWise January 2026 · Founder: Lee Silverstone
zofiQ solved the problem Rewst deliberately left open: what if you don't want to build workflows at all? Connect your PSA, give it a day, and the AI figures out your ticket patterns and starts triaging autonomously. No Jinja. No Crate customization. No dedicated automation engineer. Early customers reported 90%+ triage accuracy and 2–3 hours saved per technician per day — numbers that rival anything Rewst delivers, but without the months of setup.
That approach clearly worked. ConnectWise acquired zofiQ nine months after its launch — one of the fastest acquisition timelines in MSP software history, and a genuine vote of confidence in what the team built.
zofiQ is no longer available as an independent platform
ConnectWise announced the acquisition on January 20, 2026. zofiQ is being integrated into ConnectWise's Asio platform. MSPs not on ConnectWise PSA have no viable path forward with zofiQ. Pre-acquisition, it supported Autotask, HaloPSA, and NinjaOne — those MSPs are now without a roadmap.
This is a pattern worth noting: Rewst's own founder Aharon Chernin previously built Perch Security — acquired by ConnectWise in 2020 and subsequently folded into the ConnectWise stack. The MSP tooling market has a history of promising independent platforms becoming ConnectWise-exclusive after acquisition. If you're evaluating zofiQ, you're evaluating a ConnectWise product.
Serval: Impressive Software — Built for a Different Problem
$122M raised · Unicorn at $1B valuation · Founded April 2024 · Customers: Perplexity AI, Verkada, Cribl
Serval is $122M raised in under two years, valued at $1 billion as of December 2025, backed by Sequoia and Redpoint. When a company gets that kind of funding that fast, the product tends to be genuinely good. Serval is. It's AI-native from the ground up (not AI bolted onto a legacy ticketing system), its access management is built in from day one, and it reportedly automates 80%+ of help desk tickets in favorable conditions. For an enterprise IT department that's tired of ServiceNow's complexity, Serval is compelling.
The issue for MSPs is structural, not qualitative. Serval is built for a single organization's internal IT team — one company, one environment. Customers include Perplexity AI, Verkada, and Cribl: all fast-growing tech companies managing their own employees' devices and access. Serval has no multi-tenancy. An MSP managing 50 client environments can't run all 50 through one Serval instance. The platform's own documentation is direct about this — it's "not suited for external customer support."
If you run IT for a mid-size company and you're sick of Jira Service Management, Serval is worth a serious look. If you're an MSP, you're looking at a product built for your clients' internal IT teams — not for you. The confusion is understandable given the funding headlines; the category distinction matters more than the funding size.

The Distinction That Matters: Automation vs. Intelligence
Rewst's CEO articulates the market clearly: "AI thinks, automation acts." Every platform in this comparison fits somewhere on that spectrum — but most MSPs conflate the two.
Automation (what Rewst does)
You define what to do. The platform executes it reliably, at scale, across all your tenants. Onboard a new user the same way every time. Reconcile M365 licenses automatically. Respond to a phishing alert with a defined playbook.
Powerful. Requires investment to build. Cannot surface what you haven't thought to look for.
Intelligence (what Ixvara does)
The platform analyzes your environment, surfaces anomalies, correlates signals across clients, and identifies patterns you didn't know to look for. Which clients have MFA gaps? Which tickets are trending toward SLA breach? What changed in Client X's environment last night?
Proactive. Works from day one. Surfaces insights you didn't program it to find.
Most MSPs need both — but they're buying one and expecting the other. An MSP that buys Rewst expecting proactive insights will be disappointed. An MSP that wants to eliminate manual workflow-building before getting value needs an intelligence layer, not an automation layer.
The deeper issue: automation platforms add to your stack. Intelligence platforms replace it. Rewst integrates with ITGlue, Liongard, Auvik, Octiga, and your other tools — you still pay for all of them. Ixvara replaces them. For an MSP with 1,500 managed users, that stack costs $7–10/user/month — roughly $10,500–$15,000/month — before you've paid for any automation layer on top.
Who Should Choose What
Choose Rewst if…
- → You have 15+ technicians and can dedicate someone to own automation
- → You want to eliminate specific, known repetitive workflows (onboarding, billing reconciliation, alert response)
- → You're comfortable with a 3–6 month ramp before seeing ROI
- → You want to keep your existing tool stack and orchestrate across it
zofiQ is right for you if…
- → You're on ConnectWise PSA and want AI-driven triage without building workflows
- → You want the benefits of zofiQ's agentic AI as part of the ConnectWise Asio platform
- → You're already committed to the ConnectWise ecosystem long-term
Serval is right for you if…
- → You run internal IT for a mid-to-large company (not an MSP)
- → You want to replace ServiceNow or Freshservice with something AI-native
- → Your toolstack is Okta, Jamf, Workday, and Jira — not ConnectWise and IT Glue
Choose Ixvara if…
- → You want to eliminate 8 tools (ITGlue, Liongard, Auvik, Octiga, DeskDirector, Backupify, Datto, Inforcer) and reduce tool spend by $7–10/user/month
- → You want intelligence from day one — no workflow building required
- → You're on any PSA or RMM (platform-agnostic)
- → You want transparent pricing: $500/tech/month, up to 300 managed users included
- → You want proactive cross-client insight, not just reactive automation
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Rewst worth it for a small MSP (under 10 technicians)?
Generally not, unless you have someone passionate about automation who can own it as a significant part of their role. Rewst's ROI scales with the number of workflows you build and maintain. A 5-tech shop will spend a significant portion of available time building Rewst rather than using it. The community and Crate library reduce this friction, but the investment is real.
Can I use zofiQ without ConnectWise?
Not effectively. zofiQ was acquired by ConnectWise in January 2026 and is being integrated into the ConnectWise Asio platform. While zofiQ previously supported multiple PSAs, the product's future is tied to the ConnectWise ecosystem. Non-ConnectWise MSPs should evaluate alternatives.
What is the difference between Rewst and Ixvara?
Rewst automates processes you define. Ixvara surfaces intelligence you didn't have to program. Rewst integrates with your existing tools; Ixvara replaces them. Rewst delivers value after you build workflows; Ixvara delivers value from day one. They solve different problems — a mature MSP running Rewst might also use Ixvara as the intelligence layer that Rewst acts on.
Is Serval for MSPs?
No. Serval is built for enterprise internal IT departments managing their own organization's employees and systems. It has no multi-tenancy for external service delivery. Despite receiving significant media coverage due to its $1B valuation, Serval competes with ServiceNow and Freshservice, not with MSP automation platforms.
What MSP automation platform requires the least setup?
Ixvara requires the least time to first value — auto-documentation and AI triage work from the point of connection, without defining workflows. zofiQ (when it was independent) was similarly fast to deploy. Rewst requires the most setup but offers the most flexibility for complex, custom automations.
